Playing drums for Lord Sonny the Unifer…

is the handsome and talented actor-comedian-dancer-writer, ace tub-thumper, Carmine Covelli!

Along with psychedelic biker band Lord Sonny the Unifier, Carmine Covelli is a member of the alternative rock band The Julie Ruin, fronted by feminist icon Kathleen Hanna. They’ve released two studio albums, toured the world, and performed on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers and Last Call with Carson Daly. Here’s a stand out track we thought you might like:

Carmine has been in bands since his high school days; his interest spanning from hard rock to psychedelic metal to punk to experimental noise. His psychedelic metal band Black Light Rainbow recorded at the now defunct Power Station studio in NYC with Tony Bongiovi and released two studio albums but disbanded in 1995. Here’s a killer track from the youthful Carmine:

Like a typical NY super-creative, far beyond keeping a steady rock beat, Carmine’s relaxed yet confident dancing skills were featured in the last episode of Season 2 on ‘Inside Amy Schumer’ along with Ad-Rock (Adam Horovitz) and Bridget Everett. Check out the official video here.

Listen again to our two singles and you’ll no doubt hear the cowbells, galloping swing-time drum fills, and mammoth thumping on Right In Your I, and the cymbal rolls, raises, crashes, and charismatic tom work on The Starman.
